"My child would have had difficulties with handling emotions, self regulation, integrating with peers and peer activities and withdrawal and mutism which appeared like sulking following incidents. I was struggling to understand as he was getting older why he was so easily triggered and upset by other people and what others would consider everyday.
A family member suggested I look at retained reflexes and movement therapy. My first time reading about it was absolutely eye-opening - I saw my child described so well, even down to recurrent motion sickness on short journeys, late learning to tie shoe laces and inter-personal behaviours.
I found Ann and booked an assessment, following which we commenced a programme of daily movement therapy which addressed the reflexes in turn. Within a few weeks we noticed a huge improvement regarding self control, tolerance, out bursts and mutism. He became more open and chatty and less withdrawn in group family settings. Family members who didn't even know about the therapy were commenting that he was like a new child. We concluded therapy after 15 months. His confidence and coordination improved as the reflexes were worked on and he now joins in on play in the yard and copes well with peer interaction and friends. It has transformed how he feels about himself.
We found Ann wonderful to deal with and my child developed a lovely, trusting relationship with her. She has a lovely manner when engaging with and assessing the child and when demonstrating the prescribed movements." — Sinéad
